Sort of.
I was watching this episode of Steve Carrell’s The Office and have sufficient reason to believe that Rajinikanth was mentioned in the sitcom.
Sample the following dialog exchange:
Kelly: You know what my middle name is? Rajinigandha! And I hate it! I hate it!
Kevin: I thought Rajinigandha was a boy’s name.
They are obviously referring to Rajinikanth.
And that’s how, like a Ninja, Rajinikanth has crept into prime time US television.
Is Shankar behind this surreptitious marketing ploy for Iyandhiran? Maybe. Maybe.
